Is Clamshell Mode at all reliable in your opinion>

I am currently running Tahoe MacOS 26 on an M1 MacBook Air, connected to an AOC G32C2 32” Monitor.

Clamshell mode is seemingly terribly unreliable, as it works for a few days, and then simply stops working after a reboot.

I have had this problem for a long time, but, after coming back to Mac after a couple of years switch over to Linux (and I came back) it seems that this is still not working.

I guess I am hopping for a sanity check from online friends here?

I have had occasional success by deleting ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/apple.windowserver.displays.<hex_string>.plist`

But this is half way effective at best it seems...

Am I just outta luck?

Appreciate any helpful feedback from fellow Mac users and /or support personnel (if they tread these boards?)

All the best.
