Google terms have to be checked before each search

For some reason after last update whenever I click on search I get google terms and conditions to accept. I’ve gone into settings where the choice is either google, yahoo, bing, DuckDuckGo go or ecosia but no safari. Having searched the internet safari is not actually a search engine but how do I find which search engine it was linked to before the update when I didn’t keep getting the terms and conditions every time I want to search.
