GarageBand crashes after iOS 26 update, losing unsaved work

Por ahora lo pude resolver abriendo una canción anterior donde tuviera ya habilitados 2 canales. Cree una copia de esa canción, la renombré y borre las pistas y Ahi pude usar todo sin problema. Incluso pude usar la app en segundo plano. Gracias a Dios estoy funcional, pude grabar, y utilizar 2 canales a la vez. iPhone 11, iOS 26.0.1. Espero sirva!!!

Well it does continue to periodically crash, not often when recording, but I am functional, I had to reset the settings and restart it and then set settings as I prefer them, finally working again

me too. everything i try to accomplish and record on garageband, it immediately crashes and shuts down. all of this started AFTER updating to the new ios26. it is an iphone 16e and this has never been an issue before. it's especially buggy when i use any external app or inter app audio , audio extension etc.

i am having the same issue. i can record the first track but as i try to lay the second and i connect my headphones i get the bluetooth message as normal and if i select OK the app crashes and closes.

but if i bring up a file recorded in ios 18 it doesn't happen.

this renders garageband useless.....

Did you try the run in background function for inter-apps?

I can no longer run the app in the back ground and half the things I do crash the app, this was my main way to get away from my depression, making 1-2 songs a day, no all I want to so is die, apple has done this to me before, thet hate the user and just want my money

Same thing, now it’s impossible to use external apps and garage band crashes when I access the notes bloc too. I bought an UAD Volt 2 to connect it to my iphone and it seems like it was a waste of money. Thanks apple…

Same here, literally losing a ton of work, does apple even read this? It’s been like this since the very first beta of iOS 26 and it’s so frustrating, the amount of takes I need to re-record is beyond stupid at this point.

Yes I’m copying all of these things as well. It freezes. It doesn’t save. It is literally the app I use every day and now I’ve done an update and I’m dying. It’s the worst thing that could ever happen. Seriously what are they doing? Is anyone know?

Garage Band continues to crash on my new iPhone 17 pro max and my husband’s. One function it does it on every time is when I click to add a loop. It’s completely unusable. Apple are you working on a solution for this??

I have the exact same issue. I paid a lot of money for 3rd party apps but the no longer work because despite the option to run in the background being switched on, it turn of the mic. Probably some EU privacy settings they changed but how can you mess up the only app that

never had issues.

im having the same issue, I can’t even use GarageBand at all. I tried to start recording with BiasFx and GarageBand immediately crashes.. really frustrating.. hopefully they find a fix soon.

This is very true I get that too and when I click close the app crashes

Same here, GarageBand crashes when I use AirPods and when I tap on Notepad.
