iPhone mic for karaoke app not working

I have the newest Apple TV generation, all of my devices have the latest IOS update, and I have an Apple Music subscription, but the iPhone mic app doesn’t seem to want to work. I use the QR code to connect it to my tv, it “connects” for about 30 seconds but no audio goes through it, and then a pop-up comes on the screen saying the mic was disconnected. But I can still pause or play the song and send reactions on my tv. I’ve tried on mine and my sister’s phone (Both IPhone 14 Pros with the latest update) and it just disconnects both of us. Anyone have any ideas?
