2019 Macbook pro latest OS safari using all ram

After the update my macbook started to act up, whenever i use safari just 1 tab of facebook ads, it will use 10g+ of ram. It always happens within 10 mins of using safari, or when I close my lid and reopen it, it will instantly use 10g+ ram and heats up my macbook and it lags. How do i fix this, I can't even do work at all this is messing up my business
