Animated Download icon Missing - Safari, Tahoe

Since updating my mac (macbook Pro, 2021) to Tahoe a few days ago, whenever downloading things in safari, I'm not getting that little flying thing that used to pop out of the download button on web pages. Minor issue I realize, but it was kind of handy for some immediate feedback that a download actually happened, and since its disappeared I've downloaded some things several times just because I didn't think it was working.
