bluetooth will not auto connect on subsequent usage

I am using a third party earphone (philips to be exact). I connected this earphone to my iphone 16 pro max and able to use it. However, when the earphone is disconnected either by out of range or when i place it back to the charging unit and hence disconnecting it, it is unable to auto connect subsequently.

Is this a compatability issue?
