Can an external GPS receiver be shared by an iPhone 14 and an iPad Mini 6 if connected via a hub?
I mounted my iPad Mini 6 to the instrument panel of my airplane to use as a navigation moving map. I was disappointed to learn that the GPS function of my iPad is inconsistent, unlike my phone, which always seems to work in the air.
I am wondering if a wired iOS compatible external GPS receiver could be shared by the two devices if they were connected via a powered hub? Further, could I connect the intercom music input to the hub to play music stored on my phone?
Fundamentally, I don't understand the nature of a powered hubs function. My hope is that it allows all connected devices to share all available data equally, as well as power all connected devices that require it. Rather than try to connect everything by bluetooth, which for some equipment requires effort to make all of the necessary connections, I would prefer to simply plug the devises in to cords provided near the mounts, as I need to provide power to the devices anyway. My hope is that I can also provide external gps data and music out as well.
Thank you,
