Too much Lag in low power mode ios 26

Hi

I have 16 Pro and I've noticed that there is a lot of lag in the UI after the ios 26 update when you're in low power mode. It works smoothly when low power mode is off. I am aware that low power reduces the FPS but I dont think it should be this bad. All animations appear choppy which is hurting my eyes a lot.

I don't know if this is a issue specific to my device or for all but its unexpected in the official release and hoping we will get a fix soon as low power mode is something everyone uses a lot.

A lot of people are saying you should only use Low Power Mode (LPM) for emergencies.
However, iPhones never dropped frames in LPM before iOS 26. My iPhone 12 mini runs flawlessly with LPM enabled on iOS 18. But my iPhone 17 drops frames simply be scrolling through the homescreen on iOS 26.

Did you read the ebtire thread? It's ONLY 2 pages and it's been explained why in iOS 26 it will and was designed to make a difference.

Your iPhone 17 has a ProMotion display and your iPhone 12 does not. You are going to see a much more dramatic effect on the iPhone 17 refresh rate reducing the frame rate then you would ever see on the iPhone 12. To further increase battery life on iOS 26 when using LPM, that is going to come at the expense of performance where you should also see the visual effects reduced. Which do you want?

  • The maximum amount of battery saving by reducing performance.
  • No performance impact limitations.

For those that are not going to be near a power source until a charge is needed, they are more concerned about getting the most amount of battery time as possible without worrying about performance. If Apple can increase the battery time from 3 hours to 4 hours in an update by further limiting performance, then the LPM feature will benefit those users even more.
