Does Firewire still support in macOS Sequoia 15.7 for scanners?

Is firewire still supported in macOS Sequoia 15.7 I need it to run my scanner? I read that some people said it's not. I also saw that it's not supported in macOS Tahoe.

Yes, FireWire is supported in macOS 15 Sequoia including 15.7. That assumes you have the proper adapter chain to connect the device, of course (discontinued by Apple and hard to come by).

You are correct that macOS 26 Tahoe will not support FireWire devices.

I believe that Ventura got rid of support for "plug and play" Firewire audio devices – but not support for other types of FireWire devices, like drives and scanners.

Tahoe puts the nails in FireWire's coffin.

Some old scanners and drives have both FireWire and USB interfaces, but where that is the case, the USB interface may be a lot slower than the FireWire one - you might be talking about FireWire 400 vs. USB 1.0.
