System files is 56gb after upgrading to iOS26. I’ve restarted a few times and gone through the usual recommended fix (safari cache, unloading unused apps, etc). Phone is also warmer constantly…much more than usual.

This seems to be pretty much normal after a big software update. Let it continue to reindex and sort itself out, it might take a day or two but even longer if you keep trying to interrupt and override the automation.
There's a lot of background processing that needs to take place after a major upgrade. Give it a few days to settle out.
