MacBook Pro M1 Max searches in finder window

finder will not search anymore in tahoe 26, all system settings appear to be fine, the spotlight settings seem to be fine in the Finder settings seem to be fine, does not seem like anything changed other than I used to get results with typing in 1 letter, name of file or date would bring up everything with the date, none of it happening anymore since Tahoe 26.

Somebody told me that, they didn't tell me to add my documents folder in there, they said to add my hard drive and it's been running like eight hours now, it's still going it's about a 1/4 thru getting close to a 1/3 of the way thru.

Should I just leave it going and will just create any problem and if I stop it doesn't create a problem. I posted the question here but I hadn't seen a reply yet and I was just talking to some people and that's what I was advised and when I looked online, it said that was the proper way to do it but what you suggest seems like a much better suggestion see him in the problem would be really just what is in my documents. So my questions are 1) should I just let it continue and finish, 2) was this bad to do and 3) should I stop and just do my documents folder 4) what happens when you shop this process when it didn't finish on its own?
