IMAC PER PROGRAMMI ADOBE

Ciao a tutti!

I agree with Servant of Cats about the Mini Mr. You can get it with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD with other external SSDs for storage and operation, and a 3rd party 4K monitor for at least $500 less than a comparable configured new iMac.

It all depends on budget. If your budget is tight then you should consider the Mini with a 27" - 32" 4K monitor.

I have a Mini M4 with an LG 32" 4K monitor w/speakers (didn't know the Mini had a speaker) and it is a great combination.

I just checked and a Mac Mini M4 with 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD is $900 less than a similarly configured 24" iMac.

You'll need a mouse, keyboard and monitor. If you have a mouse and keyboard you can use them and a 32" 4K monitor can cost from $200 to $350. You'll have lots of choices on Amazon.

Just some food for thought.

IMAC FOR ADOBE PROGRAMS

Hello everyone! I'm thinking of buying an iMac mainly for photography and photo editing. I would like to use it with programs like Photoshop and Lightroom and have an iMac that makes the work fast and fluid. Which model would you recommend to me to have reliable performance, without spending too much but without compromising on quality? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Adobe recommends a minimum of 16 GB of RAM – but you may find it useful to have more – say, 24 GB or even 32 GB. You cannot add RAM to any Apple Silicon Mac after purchase, so it's best to get what you think you may need up front – even if you have to custom-order it.

As an alternative to a 24" M4 iMac, you could consider a M4 or M4 Pro Mac mini, paired with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse of your choice. The iMac's advantage is that it has a very nice (high-PPI) display – there are not many displays with similar PPIs on the market, and those that are available are not cheap. On the other hand, there is a huge selection of 27" and 32" 4K displays, including several with good coverage of wide gamuts (DCI-P3, Adobe RGB), and you might be able to put together a system based on a Mac mini and a large 4K screen for less than the cost of the iMac. Although 27" and 32" 4K displays have lower PPIs than the 24" iMac display, or the 27" Apple 5K Studio Display, and thus are not as sharp, their prices have led a lot of people to opt for them.

Note that the entry-level 24" iMac only has two multi-purpose USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 ports. If you get a M4 iMac, I'd suggest getting one of the higher-end models that has four of those ports. Two ports will fill up very fast - and you might be forced to add a hub or dock to the two-port model to have places to plug in everything.
