How does one get rid of those ENORMOUS squares of Recently Saved at the top Bookmarks menu? Do we have to live with that now? This whole new MacOS 26 Tahoe feels like a triumph of form over function. What's with the rounded edges on everything?

It appears to me there are only tiles for things that are saved to my Reading List. I deleted them by clicking the left arrow that is to the left of the Bookmarks heading, went to my Reading List, and deleted everything. No more tiles show. When I add a bookmark no new tiles appear, at least if I file it away in a folder.

The squares of "recently added" in the sidebar at the top in Safari 26. They are very annoying

Yes but then a list appears and bookmarks are hidden. Not good.

Of course but should not have to. I believe Apple sometimes makes a change for the sake of change and not to improve functionality.

This is exactly what is happening to me.
I apologise. Perhaps I failed to make myself clear - I meant to click on the Reading List large square at the top of the list of bookmarks and then proceed as I suggested - it worked for me.
Thanks Mariowynjones, but the trouble is that this will remove the bookmark completely from my favourites. I just want it gone from the Recently Saved section.
Control right click deleted Thumbnail (Big Squire) Also deleted from my Favorite Bookmark. Did not work. Sorry.
He is referring to Safari sidebar bookmarks. Apple messed that up in my opinion.

I was excited when I saw Apple Put Out an update 26.0.1. Thought Apple Engineers fixed my BIG Squire Thumbnail in Bookmark side bar. Sorry, did not happen.
