How do I stop syncing? How do I get rid of the annoying cloud icons? All seems like a shameless money grab from Apple for more iCloud storage.

Original Title: Tahoe automatically syncing / uploading desktop files to iCloud - how do I stop. Infuriating experience so far. Crashing regularly and auto upload is slowing everything down.

Perhaps you misunderstood-- this is not Apple. This site is moderated by Apple employees, but they don't answer questions. This is a user community. We are not Apple; folks who read these posts are just users like you. Some of us hang around here from time to time in case our experience may help someone. We don't get paid and we don't have a schedule, and the Apple engineers don’t read the stuff, here. Leaving an angry post won't encourage us to offer help.
