Home app sync issue: iPhone fails to load existing iCloud Home
I am the owner of a HomeKit Home. The Home is set up on my iMac and synced via iCloud. My wife’s iPhone, my Mac, and other devices all see the Home correctly. Name changes and updates propagate instantly between them.
On my iPhone, however, the Home app never shows the existing Home. Instead, after reinstalling the app or toggling iCloud sync, it only shows the “Welcome to Home” screen with the option to Create New Home.
What I have already tried
- Confirmed the iPhone is signed into the same Apple ID as my Mac (the owner account).
- Ensured iCloud › Home and iCloud Keychain are enabled.
- Toggled iCloud Home off/on multiple times, including reboots in between.
- Deleted and reinstalled the Home app.
- Reset the iPhone.
- Verified that Home hubs (Apple TV / HomePod) are present.
Current state
- My Apple ID as owner cannot be removed from the Home, so I cannot “re-invite” myself.
- The Home is intact and working across other devices.
- My iPhone continues to show “Create New Home” only, with no option to join or load the existing iCloud Home.
Question
How can I force my iPhone to fully discard its local HomeKit profile and reload the correct HomeKit database from iCloud, given that my Apple ID is the owner and cannot be removed/reinvited?
(I am on the latest versions of all operating systems and apps)
