Assistive touch automatically turns off

Hi everyone,

So I have noticed this happen a couple of times. Assistive touch just disappears.

iPhone 16pro

using apple phone case

I go check the settings and sure enough it’s off

now this happens randomly and I have tried the following

  • checked the back tap settings. (Double tap for lock and triple tap - nothing)
  • power button, not configured to turn off assistive touch, only to turn on assistive touch and guided access, on triple click.

I am 100% confident by now that it’s not due to user error at this stage.

I have not experienced this issue on previous models or iOSs

how do I resolve this?

Thanks

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

You may want to let Apple about know your experience. They will likely not reply, yet your feedback will be carefully read and logged, and if others have a similar issue, it may be addressed in a future update.

The more info. Apple receives on which hardware models, software versions, and apps are affected, the more likely we will see an update that addresses the issues.
