ghost images across Macbook screen Help

I have what appears to be a document scrolling on the screen in 6 vertical bands and even a complete shut down doesn't stop it see screenshot. Anyone know how to stop it. thanks MikeC144

Screen shot is generated direct from the GPU and no vertical bands are present on that tiny little image.

Vertical lines are almost always a fault in the display itself.


It indicates an issue with the Display/Display assemble/Display cable.


For hardware issues take it in—

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"

A work-a round is to plug in an external monitor the feed is generated by the GPU
