How do I fix 'Live Translation' not working on my AirPods 4?

Which iPhone do you have? Live translation requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. It would be helpful if you provide more detail such as

• What steps did you go thru?
• What happens when you try to turn on this feature?
• Is there an error message?

I had the same issue and noticed that after setting the languages on all the options available at the bottom of the Translate app (Translate, Camera, Conversation, and Live) to the same two languages, in my case Spanish to English, the live translation started to work. I must say that the live translation still requires some work.

• Installed Live Translation Languages: German, Spanish, English (UK)

Problem in the translation app:

"Start Translation" button is not visible

Only the button "Live-Translation Setup" is visible

Even if everything is correct and already 3 languages are downloaded.

Mines install but if I try to install more languages the previous languages redownloads. For activating live translation, the popup shows but then immediately closes and either says nothing or asks me to download languages again.

I have iPhone 16 pro and AirPods Pro 3. I have downloaded languages, have the option of live translation but when I click on any of the downloaded languages it just takes me back to the previous page! I’ve reset everything, deleted the translate app and reinstalled languages but still the same issue!

I have the same issue. I have an iPhone 16, AirPods Pro 3, and iOS 26. When I try to use live translation, it tells me I need to download languages, but I have already. When I click live in the translate app, I get a set-up live translation option, but nothing is achieved when do this. It appears lots have this problem, not jsut me. I am erasing all content on my iphone presently to see if it helps.

So you can only do the translation of ppl talking if you have newer phone 16 and up

I also can’t get live translation to work. I’m on a new 17 Pro Max with AirPods Pro. Keeps telling me to download the languages which I have already done. I’m in UK but not EU.

I’m in the UK and on the iPhone 17 with new pods and have the same issue. No live translation despite having downloaded the language I need (French) twice and restarted my phone.

Same issue here. I’m in the UK, iPhone16 and AirPods Pro 3. It just keeps telling me to download languages.

Same here in AU - iPhone 16 Pro Max and AirPods Pro 2 and just asks to download languages

Same issue. iPhone 15 Pro Max, new AirPods, English and Spanish downloaded. Trying this in a conference in Mexico. Live translation starts and the almost immediately stops.
