How to disable liquid glass in iOS 26?
Is there a way to completely disable the liquid glass functionality on iOS 26? I'm not going to get into a lengthy diatribe over why it's awful, I just want it gone.
iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 18

Well, the analogy fails because I can always go to a different dealer and buy a different car

And you can go buy a different kind of phone, too.
horrible idea for UI. Please listen to your users and give us an option to disable this and revert back. I’m sure your feedback loop is blowing up on this.
Except it does kind of diminish those getting headaches and nauseated by these changes which seem pretty ugly and lame (illness inducement aside).
This issue needs to be fixed, asap. All this advice about changing all these settings just to get it to look halfway decent again is not a solution.
You have to fix this and let us take off Liquid Glass. I no longer can see my phone without glasses.
User to user site. Apple is not here, they will not see your post or reply.
If you want to provide feedback to Apple, you can do so here:
I was already hesitating to update my iPhone 16 but I did today and I regretted it the liquid glass is miserable I really cant use my phone and i started thinking to sell this one

Please allow the option to disable the Liquid Glass feature, the flashes of lights when clicking on things is causing me to get severe migraines. None of the settings I have tried have made a difference. I’m very sensitive to changes in lights and/or flashes of lights :(
It is not a feature it IS the operating system
You can turn on Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size
There is no way to do so. Turning on 'reduce transparency' ( settings -accessiblity - display and text size - reduce transparency ) will fill the notification/now playing background with a dark overlay. You cannot change that color whatsoever, so you are basically stuck on dark mode while on your lock screen. I HATE this feature and would love to have the option to COMPLETELY turn off the liquid glass effect.
There's no off switch but however what I did is I went to settings-accessability-display & text size and reduced transparency and if that still isn't okay for you I would recommend scrolling down (same settings) and reducing white points atleast by 50% or however you like. It makes the icons less "shiny" in a way
The reduce transparency worked well for me. I had to change my wallpaper to a darker one because I couldn’t read anything on the screen with Liquid Glass, it’s terrible! Looks like a cheap third party UI 😖
