How to disable liquid glass in iOS 26?
Is there a way to completely disable the liquid glass functionality on iOS 26? I'm not going to get into a lengthy diatribe over why it's awful, I just want it gone.
iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 18

Downgrading has never been supported.
You can't disable your operating system, the phone wouldn't work. And downgrading the iOS isnt supported, you will have to live with it.
Im going in to a Genius bar on Sunday for a battery replacement and will ask them to roll it back to 24 or 25.
I mainly want to disable the shimmer effect on the outline of the app icons. It’s distracting and IMO really ugly.
So, have you done anything yet to minimize the effect?
If yes, what have you tried?
I think it will grow on me, but i wish they had a feature for turn on and off
Thank you so much. Your solution is very helpful. Makes the new OS much more tolerable when using dark mode settings.
I have it on my Mac and my iPhone now, I thought I hated it on my Mac. Even worse on my iPhone. I understand it is personal preference but can not stand this.
I tried those ways to minimize it and it didn’t help.
Why did someone think this was a good idea? Extremely distracting!
Unfortunately, it’s not about liking or disliking; it’s an accessibility issue.
Lol “idle threat”? And if you don’t care, why’d you reply?
It seems Apple’s putting what they want NOT what we want on these phones after all we are the ones buying the phones. I hope apple developers REMOVE that bs glass. Most of us hate it.
Thanks for that. I still hate it. Looks like a cheap fake phone. Will try to go back to iso 18

That has always been the Apple way. I'm not sure why it comes as a surprise.
