iMessage closes after 10 seconds, and FaceTime asks for login each time after upgrading to Tahoe on MacBook Pro M1

I upgraded to Tahoe on my MacBook Pro M1 yesterday. Since that time, I am unable to keep iMessage open, and when I login, (it asks each time) it will close after 8 seconds. Additionally FaceTime, asks for login information each time. It will stay open until I close it but will again ask for user name and password each time. I created a new user on the MacBook Pro, logged in to iCloud using my same credentials, and has the same behavior as my original profile.

I have this problem on a MacBook Pro 2020 (Intel) and haven't upgraded to Tahoe, just to Sequoia 15.7.

I also have two iPads and neither is able to log into either iMessage or Facetime with the latest upgrade to iOS. Repeated error message about an activation error.

And on my iPhone, in iMessage if I select the "use your apple account for iMessage" option, I get an iMessage Activation error.
