Unable to display TV show artwork in grid view on iPadOS 26

What artwork can TV shows now display in the grid view in iPadOS 26?

Apple seems to have removed the ability to display the TV Show name in the grid view name favoring some kind of server lookup and fall back to a grey solid icon instead of ever displaying the artwork attached to the file. You can only see the artwork attached to the file when you drill down to the detail of the TV show.

What this means is that for those people who use TV shows to organize related content. ie. episodes of a TV show are related. Think of a youtube playlists as a TV show and the items in the playlist are episodes of the TV show. It's a very common way to organize related content in Apple's ecosystem.

But now without the ability to see the TV show name or display it via your own custom artwork in the grid view it's very difficult to now differentiate the names of each TV show when looking at the grid.

Apple appears to assume that any "TV show" will have artwork that can be found using metadata searches from the metadata of the TV show.
