In the Add Printer window, I see my Epson printer and its fax app.I have tried pasting the Adobe PDF 9.0.app path into the Search field with no result. The Name, Location and Use fields are gray, as is the Add button. I have no idea where to go from here.

What were you hoping to accomplish by adding this "Adobe PDF 9.0" application as a printer?
Just a guess – but if you want to generate a .PDF file corresponding to a document, you can use the "PDF" menu in the Print dialog to generate a PDF file instead of sending a document to a printer. No need for "Adobe PDF 9.0" for that task.
It's ancient, 32 bit software. It cannot, and will not ever work on a modern Mac.
How can I add the Adobe PDF 9.0.app in M1 Mac Mini Library to my available Printer List?
