Transferring a child's account from a US based apple family account to a German based one

I currently live in the United States and my family has recently moved to Germany. The family sharing account is logged onto the US store and we need to transfer the kids to the German store but have unable to do that. Other than deleting the kid's accounts and starting over, what other solutions would work?
