Are you asking about the iPad 2 shown in your equipment line?

...when you buy it today?

The iPad 2 was discontinued 11 years ago last March. That is early Paleozoic in computer years. Your experence would be the same with most other 11-year old devices regardless of make.

The short answer: Old devices cannot handle modern security measures

👉🏻 Possible workaround:

If you are sent a a six-digit verification code to enter on an iDevice that can only handle four-digit codes, try this:

— Enter your Apple Account/Apple ID name

— when you are asked for your Apple Account/Apple ID password, do not hit "enter" yet.

— adding NO spaces, add the six-digit code prot to the END of your Apple Account/Apple ID password, then enter.

EXAMPLE:

— you Apple Account/Apple ID password is 77mypassnotyours

— you were sent the verification code 987654

— your enter 77mypassnotyours987654 in the password field in the old device.
