Touch doesnt work on Touchbar, even after replacing it. (MacBook PRO 2019 (two Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

The screen of the touch bar works, I can see the options, but it wont register me touching it. I've tried restarting the agent and resetting SMC. After that didnt work I concluded that it must be an hardware issue and swapped the touchbar for a new one. Same issue. :((

Take it back to Apple / AASP

On an Intel Mac the best you can do is both:

—resetting the System Management Controller Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

—resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

(hold to get at least three continuous rounds of the chimes when resting the NVRAM, no harm there)

try a safeboot and try again or take it in for repair

It could be an issue with one of the other cable/connectors used with the Touchbar (some models have a small little inline addition where it may combine or split things), or it is a problem with the Logic Board. Or maybe you received a defective part.

However, if Apple performed the repair, they would have replaced the entire Top Case Assembly....in that case only the Logic Board is left as the problem assuming the replacement Top Case Assembly (and Touchbar) are good.
