Logging out of a fraudulent Apple ID on a device

I can't log out of someone else's Apple ID, which was set by fraudsters on my device. When I try to log out, they ask for a password that I don't have. How to properly log out of this account and switch to your own Apple ID? What steps can be taken if access to someone else's Apple ID is blocked?

I am sorry this is happened to you, because you should never ever log in to someone else’s apple account. Your iPhone can be activation locked now to their account. What i should do if i where you is Contact - Official Apple Support To discuss your options with them

Let me save you some time. You can call Apple if you wish but they will likely just tell you the same thing I include below and outlined in How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support

Since this was a scam, there is probably nothing you can do. Normally you would use the information that was used to sign in to also sign out, but presumably the scammer changed their password and is now preventing you from doing that.

The second thing you could normally do is ask Apple for an Activation Lock removal at https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Note, however, that the device cannot have Lost Mode set on it. If your device has been taken over by you having entered a scammer’s Account then the scammer may have set that too and the device is lost to you. Recycle the device and regard this as a costly lesson learned.

Never log into someone else's Apple Account on your phone.

Whether scammers tell you a sob story about needing to temporarily "borrow" your phone, or encourage you to log into their Apple Account by promising access to apps, etc. that are normally unavailable to you, the result will be the same: an extortion demand, and a phone that has been turned into a useless "brick".
