magic mouse pointer movements slow

When moving the pointer up (and down) it moves too slow.

Much slower than similar horizontal movements. Settings are set for about as fast as possible. A wired mouse gives the performance expected and preferred. It's been a few months that this has become particularly noticeable and disturbing. Jerk movements can get a faster move, but that is unnatural and extra effort and lifting the hand. The vertical movement needs at least twice what it now is capable. While I'm ok with the horizontal, the wired mouse moves horizontal much faster. Not related to any one application, its all of them.

When my MacStudio was new a few years ago, this was not an issue. Anyone have a solution? A bug report has been submitted to Apple.
