Cracked screen iPad and apple service center

Good afternoon,

as I’m getting stuck with apple support as not chat for the issue available, I’m asking your help for an issue with my iPad Pro.

Front screen get slightly cracked, almost not visible below the paper like protected but as it is quite new and amazing unit (less then one year) I was willing to make it repaired.

Unfortunately I found that in the country I’m now the local official apple service center don’t change screen but only change whole unit with a new one at price higher then when I bought it.

The unit is now close to the warranty expiring date and I would like to know if I can get it repaired with some discount and, if it is so, if I can open a file now and wait til back in my original country as it will be well after the warranty expiring date.

any suggestions how to?

Screen damage - including cracks or breakage - is generally not covered by the Apple's limited warranty. As such, your only option will be to finance replacement of the screen assembly.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
