Unable to redeem Apple TV 3-month trial due to phone number error

Hi I am accepting my apple TV 3 month free plan and when i go to fill in the information of billing, address and phone # and such and press done it is not accepting my phone number. It comes up red as this field is required and i have already entered my phone number. please advise.
