External Logitech Webcam not recognized on Macbook Pro
Device details:
- Macbook Pro
- Apple M3 Pro
- macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 (24G90)
- Logitech Webcam C925e
- Product ID: 0x085b
- Vendor ID: 0x046d (Logitech Inc.)
- Version: 0.16
I have tried connecting the webcam via:
- USB-C to USB-A adapter (as direct as possible) - the adapter is from google pixel
- USB-C to 4-port USB-A hub from startech.com
- via LG monitor as usb hub.
None of the above works. When plugged in, the webcam flashes green LED twice and then nothing.
The device does show up in the System Report under the USB tree (but not in the Camera list).
It does not show up in any apps (Facetime, Zoom, etc). And yes, I have permissions enabled in Private & Security -> Camera for all the apps I care about. They all only give the choice of the builtin "FaceTime HD Camera".
