TIP:: When your TV 4K Siri lightning hangs and you suffer trying to restart...

2 or perhaps 3 times since warranty has expired my TV 4K 2nd Gen (w/ Siri lightning remote) has Hung.

Since it was completely unresponsive and the best advice found was to cycle power for ~10 seconds and simply power up again and enjoy. Nope, never helped - perhaps you have had this as well?

The Help documentation says Apple Service is required - I have hesitated to be without the TV for days while it gets shipped away and at what cost?

I have since made notes and it has helped twice (since the foresight of making notes) now and here goes;

TV - Mine was rebooting and flicker a Logo, rinse and repeat, endlessly. Status lamp was a slow blink.

Siri Remote - Press & HOLD “<“ MENU  & “TV” for 5 seconds (this also unpaired remote)

TV - notice almost immediately status lamp will oddly flicker. I could not discover if the flickering lamp is

morse code or just a scream for more help, you are not done yet, TV may still not function.

TV - The help necessary is to re-pair the remote;

Siri Remote - Press and hold Back/MENU/“<“ & “VOL UP”  for five seconds.

If asked, place your remote on top of Apple TV to complete pairing.

The Apple documentation says to place Remote on TV - This does nothing.

Within moments the TV is just as you left it working once again except it is not hung. But it still asks to "Bring Remote closer to TV" which does nothing.

(( This has been used on current TVOS 18.6 and the couple versions previous ))

Edit to above

The "Bring Remote closer..." prompt was solved by "Restarting the Remote"

TV 4K restarting your remote. (successful on the TV 4K 2nd Gen using supplied remote A2540)

Press and hold the TV/Control button and the Volume Down button at the same time.

Hold the buttons down for about 5 seconds, or until the status light on your Apple TV turns off and on again.

:: Release the buttons. Then wait 5 to 10 seconds for a Remote Disconnected notification to appear on your

TV screen.

:: Wait while your remote restarts. When the Connected notification appears, you can use your remote.

Functionality returns without the constant reminder to "Bring the Remote closer"
