Cheapest way to replace screen on 2020macbook pro with m1chip?

There is a little crack in the screen and it’s cause the whole screen to go black. I took it to uBreakiFix and they said $500 so I asked them if I purchased the screen replacement on Amazon how much would they charge me and they said 150 so that would be about $300 without a warranty. There has to be a cheaper way to replace the screen, right?

Guess again. The display in current Macbook Pros is one sealed assembly. Any damage or failure of any component in the assembly — even as simle worn cabel— requires an entire new assembly to put it right. The assembly nature is why the costs are sky high.

If you cannot afford to fix it, you can live with it or use an external monitor. If someone else caused the damage. it;s time for a serious converstaion with them. Homeowners'/renters' insurance won't help much. Most have a US$500 deductible.

Is that statement completely correct, as written?

If yours is truly is ONE little crack, you should have Apple evaluate, because lately they sometimes make an exception for exactly one little crack, allowing it a stress crack instead of impact damage.

However, the typical impact damage fans out into a lightning bolt multi-crack and spreads all over the place. That is not covered and has no hope of EVER being covered except under AppleCare PLUS.
