Google Pixel 10 - Unable to log into Apple TV App

I have recently moved from my Apple iPhone to a Pixel 10 Pro. I've removed my iPhone from my trusted devices and have removed iMessage association with my number. When logging into Apple TV on the Pixel it asks for a verification code. No verification code is sent. I do get a notice on my Macbook that someone has logged in and asks me if it's okay or not me, which I select OK. The phone Apple PTV app states if a verification code is not sent I can create one in "Settings", but there is no option in settings on neither my Macbook or iPad.

I should also note that when I log into Apple TV from other devices it asks me for my hardware security key, not a verification code. Does Apple TV on Android not support hardware security keys, hence it asking for a verification code that's never generated?

Please help. This is driving me nuts.

I opened a support case for this issue many months ago, but have not received an update since. I was told i could remove the hardware key from my account to sign in, but that's not practical. Its an annoying process to add the key back, and would have to be done every time the appleid token expires on the android device. the support rep told me they opened a ticket with development, but I haven't heard anything since and it still does not work with the hardware key.
