Unable to update MacBook Monterey to newer versions

I’m facing a frustrating issue with my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) and I’ve hit a wall with updating macOS. I’ve tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. Hoping someone here can help

Current situation:

  • macOS Monterey is installed
  • I want to update to Sequoia, Sonoma, or Ventura.
  • Every attempt to update ends in an error

What I’ve done so far:

  • Free up my storage
  • Ensured my Wi-Fi connection is stable
  • Resetted NVRAM
  • Reinstalled OS
  • Used first aid, turned out great!
  • Kept the charger plugged inside
  • Removed Bootcamp services
  • Opened the lids
  • Checked Apple's server status
  • Tried all possible update methods: App Store, System Settings updates, direct downloads, Internet Recovery (Except for USB drives, I do not have a USB so yeah :D)

Additional context:

  • I previously tried to jump from Big Sur directly to Sequoia, which didn't work out so I updated to Monterey
  • My MacBook is compatible with 13.0 and later versions

The issue:

Despite having all requirements done and using standard methods, the update keeps failing. I’ve seen community posts, but none of the solutions worked out for me

Has anyone been experiencing a similar problem or have a reliable workaround? I’d greatly appreciate any guidance, as I’m running out of options and need it for educational purposes

Thank you so much in advance!

(This is my second call for help)

My recommendation would be to start with posting the free EtreCheck report using Additional Text option when posting. It contains no personal information and will establish a starting point by showing many things like free disk space, drive performance, device management, and recent crashes that could provide a clue. This will eliminate alot of the back and forth of providing screenshots that will hopefully provide a resolution much quicker. The one thing I would ask along with the report is what is showing for you at  > System Settings > Software Update.

Your MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) is compatible with everything up through the current version of macOS – macOS 15 (Sequoia). It is the only 13" MacBook Pro that will be able to run macOS 26 (Tahoe) when Apple releases that this fall. (Apple has announced that Tahoe is the last major version of macOS that will be compatible with any Intel-based Mac.)

You've probably already seen these articles:

This usually is something associated with Apple-Silicon-based Macs – but because Apple mentions the T2 Security Chip, and your MacBook Pro has one, it might explain things if you've already ruled out more common issues.

----------

Revive or restore Mac firmware

Rarely, if using a Mac with Apple silicon or Apple T2 Security Chip, you might need to revive or restore Mac firmware to resolve a persistent macOS installation issue.

Hiyaa! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll try EtreCheck and see if it sheds light on my problems :D. Sequoia is shown as an available software update for me. I’ll share any screenshots/clues once I have them.
My sincere thanks!

Just follow the link provided to post the report using the Additional Text option. There is quite a bit of useful information there that should be helpful.
