Delayed resolution for defective Apple Gift Card redemption

Bought a gift card and and the gift card redemption number was unreadable. Reported issue to support and provided necessary information twice...then they ask for the same information a 3rd time putting the case ID on all the receipts. Each time it starts a 10 day response period over again and there is no way per Support to contact the escalation team to get a resolution. Well after 2 weeks this is ridiculous for a 100.00 gift card. The responses are not acceptable that there is no way to contact those that are supposedly working the issue. Has anyone found a way to cut through this horrible service to get something like this handled in a timely manner? I am at the point that because of my time spent on this not getting resolve I might just stop spending money with Apple all together because of a 100.00 gift card.

Without knowing the full details surrounding this issue, I can only offer the following as something I woud do in this case.


Short answer: Contact Apple Support and ask for a Senior Advisor -> Contact Apple's Corporate Customer Relations -> Contact your bank that issued your credit card.


A bit longer answer:

At this point, you have a couple of stronger options, with Apple, to "push "things forward:

  • One is to call Apple Support directly and ask to speak with a Senior Advisor—don’t just stay at the initial support rep level. If they try to restart the process, politely but firmly explain that you’ve already submitted the requested documentation multiple times, reference your case ID, and state that you need this escalated without resetting the response clock again.
  • Should that stall, you could also reach out to Apple’s Corporate Customer Relations. Customer Relations is a separate team within Apple that handles escalations beyond normal support. AFAIK, they don’t advertise a contact number, but the path through Support → Senior Advisor → Customer Relations usually works. When speaking with them, reference your case ID, the repeated requests for the same info, and that you’ve already been waiting multiple weeks without resolution.
