Apple TV HD switching a user to default user for One Home Screen option

When I set up my Apple TVHD a few years ago I must have not set me as Default User. I recently bought an Apple TV 4K and I wanted to use One Home Screen to migrate apps. However, every time I try to add me as Default User I get a message to Try Again. Can you switch or change a user to Default User without deleting the user profile that has the apps?
