Using Siri to Learn How to Use macOS
Hello community!
My father recently gifted me my first Apple device (MacBook Air M2) for college. Having used Windows since I was 5, I need to look upto see how to do basically everything on macOS. However, Siri has proved to be really useful in this regard since it can tell me basically how to do anything in macOS and Apple apps by referring to the relevant user guides and giving me a list of 4-5 steps to do whatever I need to do.
However, the problem I'm facing is that as soon as I actually start doing what it has asked me to do, the Siri popup closes and I can no longer see the next steps to follow. This is problematic for 2 main reasons:
- I'm not a native English speaker and Siri has a lot of trouble understanding my accent. So, it usually takes me 5-6 tries to get Siri to understand what I'm actually saying. As a result, it would be really difficult for me to search again.
- Frustration. If someone needs to search the same thing 4-5 times it would be really frustrating even for a native English speaker.
Is there any way to pin the Siri popup? Can I do this for specific queries only? Like how can I make sure that the Siri popup is pinned till I'm still following the steps whenever it is using the macOS and Apple apps user guides. However, for all other queries, I want it to close as soon as I click on another window or option since for those queries, it means my query has been solved.
I'm facing other issues with Siri as well which I'll be posting separately soon.
Honestly, I thought my Windows 11 gaming PC friends would be jealous of my Siri till they get Hey Copilot but anytime I use Siri, they end up laughing at Siri's response since it (she?) can never do anything (except opening apps, ofc) correctly on the first try. Lol.
