Unable to move downloaded files from email on MacBook with macOS Monterey 12.7.6

I have this 12.7.6 MacBook. Have I missed something on an update or what? When I downloaded the image or report from an email.....I can't seem to move it to my desktop, file or anything. Do I have a mental block? I use to do it all the time and I'm thinking maybe they sent out a new way we are suppose to retrieve our downloads. I will also mention that I cannot, cannot stand this keyboard.

The old Mac laptops were the best. Just saying...
