Need help with battery temperature on my Iphone 16 pro

Hey everyone, I recently bought an Iphone 16 pro and I have noticed that is is quite hot while charging. I thought it was normal but decided to check the temperature by connecting my phone to my Mac and using apps like coconubattery or iMazing. When I use a fast charger show the battery temperature exceeding 50 °C. At first, I thought these readings might be inaccurate, but then I checked the logs on my iPhone (Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data) and found lines like:

"last_value_MaximumTemperature":627
"last_value_MinimumTemperature":116
"last_value_AverageTemperature":23

I’m not sure how to interpret these values, but both coconutbattery and iMazing show all time maximum tempearutre as 62.7 °C and minumum as 11.6 °C. Are these the real battery temperatures, or just some random data?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

When fast charging a battery, it will without question generate heat. It's called Thermal Exchange. As long as your phone is not showing a symbol of a thermometer, your phone is NOT overheating. That said, when fast cahrging an iPhone, they will typically charge up to 80% and you'll see a notification that charging is paused so the phone doesn't overheat. This is a normal and a new feature on newer iPhones.

Looking in Analytics is totally pointless. They aren't human readable and only Apple has the software to read Analytics. Using 3rd party tools won't lead you meaningful or accurate data either.
