iPhone11 CarPlay text audio drops out

iphone 11 (1 of 2 we own). Current iOS version 18. Only when selecting a text from the CarPlay

touch screen, the text being read out loud cuts off after 1-2seconds. The message appears to continue in silence and awaits my response. This started a week or two ago. This issue does not happen when connected to CarPlay over usb. I’ve done all the WiFi/BT “forget this device” and connection resets. Factory reset the pioneer radio. Tried to go back to iOS 18.6.1 but was forced to go with 18.6.2. Also updated the pioneer HU software. Verbally I can ask Siri to repeat the messages and messages from a specifie sender and they all play fine from a verbal Siri request . The problem does not follow the phone to my other car and the wife’s iphone11 -CarPlay works fine in my car. Sending an SOS to this community for help.

Gkropat ~ Your iPhone 11 could be 6 years old and a weak, aging battery can cause connectivity issues. So...

Does your iPhone 11 still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging

Gkropat ~ I don't know why the problem doesn't follow to your other car. I only know that 80% is not healthy and is the level at which Apple suggests having the battery replaced. And consider doing that sooner rather than later — because if the battery dies during an iOS update, it can 'brick' the iPhone.

Well, new battery installed and phone wiped then reloaded with 18.6.2. No change. CarPlay seems to me muting the text being read from messages and WhatsApp after selecting messages from the touch screen. Anyone have other suggestions??

I’ve been advised by Apple Support that my issue detailed above is due to a known bug I. 18.6.2. The work around is to connect to the CarPlay enabled radio to my iPhone 11 via usb cable until an update to 18.6 is released.

Yes. The battery is down to 80% capacity but if that were the cause, I would expect the problem to follow to my other car but it does not. All other WiFi/BT and Siri/carplay functions work fine.
