My face ID stopped recognizing my face? It was working fine the whole day but suddenly it can’t pick up my face at all, and I can’t reset it since i have device protection mode on

i haven’t set my SPD to “always”, it’s set up to “Away from familiar locations” and i haven’t changed anything about my appearance either, it just randomly stopped recognizing my Face? I can’t even put an alter appearance because of the SPD thing. I checked if my Ipad had the same issue but it didn’t so im guessing it’s a problem with the lens but I’m not sure
