Crumplepop is just knocking out my audio on FCP

I need to reduce wind noise in a clip and it looked like Crumplepop was the way to go. After purchasing a licence and installing the plugin, I'm finding adding the plugin to a clip is just knocking out my audio completely. I can hear the original audio VERY faintly. If I reduce the strength and increase the gain it improves marginally, but nothing like the original - and it's certainly not doing anything for wind noise. I find all the Crumplepop plugins are having the same effect - they all leave me with virtually no level. Any idea what could be happening?
