I’ve been experiencing this for the past few days with both apps. Very frustrating. After multiple trouble shoots, phone resets, iMessage and FaceTime resets. I finally found the issue. This fixed my issue and put everything back to normal.

Go to Settings > General > Date & Time > Turn off ‘Set Automatically’

Just put in your Date & Time. iMessage and FaceTime both linked by number successfully without me even having to click it in the settings.

Hope this helps, please let me know if it does!!

I’m having same issue with iMessage and FaceTime not working on my iPad Pro. Luckily, texts are still working on my phone. I have gone through the whole list of troubleshooting suggestions Apple put out everyday for last 3 days and none have worked. Clearly, this has something to do with iOS update 18.6.2 which Apple instructed was critical to do and needed to be done immediately. Hope they are working on a fix.

iMessages on connected devices will not work; they only work on my iPhone 14. The problem started with the IOS update 18.6.2. I often use connected devices for the ease of typing, but now the cell # will not show up as a choice to send and receive on devices. I've followed all the Apple Support steps: turning off Messages, rebooted, turning on, checking date & time, etc etc. Still can't text on devices other than iPhone.

I suspect there is an issue with synching, as contacts on my iPhone and devices (MacBook Pro M1, iMac) are not synching correctly.
