Time Machine backup question:

Can I retrieve items that were in the Trash of a certain TM backup?

I was working on something 8/02

timemachine backup was 8/03

When I look for the particular files I lost they were last on the desktop 8/02 I looked thru the backup of 8/03 and they do not show up. Possible they were in the trash at time of backup.

Will TM show the files in the trash at the time?

If not where do I find the trash folder in a TM backup?
