Most compatible file types when saving images/pictures to Photos app across devices
I’m trying to organize and eliminate duplicates of all of my files of images, pictures, videos and photos across all of my Apple devices (iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.16.2, iPad Pro 11 inch (M4) 2nd generation running iPadOS 18.16.2, and MacBook Pro 14” running macOS 15.6.1).
1) Which file types/format(s) (i.e., .jpg, .jpeg, .png, etc) are most compatible so that
images/pictures are saved to the Photos app and to iCloud so that they are available across Apple devices?
2) Specifically for Mac, what is the purpose of/reason for the “Pictures” folder and how can I adjust the settings to automatically save photos/images to the Photos app and iCloud to be available across Apple devices?
3) How, if possible, can I adjust my settings so that screenshots are saved directly to the Photos app?
4) Please provide the correct settings to completely disable the “on my iPhone” and “on my iPad” accounts
on my devices so that all devices sync only with iCloud, never locally to just the device (same devices and operating systems as mentioned above).
5) How can I remove additional duplicate photos dispersed throughout my Photos library that have not been identified as duplicates via the new “duplicates” feature (same devices and operating systems as mentioned above)?
