Hi, I am truly stumped. In the Home app on my MacBook, I see a tile for my AppleTV, but when I click on it, it launches a configuration window ("suggested scenes," "status," "default audio output," etc.) but there's no option to control basic functions like volume. Am I missing something??

I do, sure. But since the Home app is available on my MacBook, I would think I could at least do the same there, if my phone didn’t happen to be by me. In fact, the Home app on the iPhone allows me to control the volume of the AppleTV, by simply clicking on the AppleTV tile. Why the MacBook’s Home app doesn’t operate the same way is a mystery.
Do you have an iPhone? If so, you can control it from the Remote app in the Control Center.
