Can’t Transfer Spotify to Apple Music – “Currently Busy” Message

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to transfer playlists from Spotify to Apple Music using the new SongShift option, now that it’s available on iOS devices and Apple Music on the web. But when I try to connect Spotify, it’s grayed out and says, “Currently busy, try again later.”

I’ve noticed others mentioning the same issue. Has anyone found a way to resolve this? Does access eventually open up on its own?

Appreciate any help — thanks!

The “Currently Busy” message when transferring Spotify to Apple Music usually occurs due to server issues, high traffic, or temporary connectivity problems. Retry after some time, ensure both accounts are properly connected, and check for app updates.

I use Friendly Streaming App to access Spotify and it plays fine. However, since Spotify is starting to charge anyone using Spotify after Sept 28th, I have stopped using it since I get free music with my tv/internet provider. You might try Friendly Streaming App. It does have some bugs but it did play Spotify without issue.

I use iRecord on an iBook to record purchased copy protected movies and music onto a memory stick so that might be one way to get around the problem if you can get the iRecord adapter. I've had to use it to convert my purchased Apple music when I had trouble accessing old purchases on old apple accounts with newer computers.

How do these suggestions answer the original question of how to use the SongShift feature in Apple Music to transfer music and playlists from Spotify to Apple Music?
