My macbook keyboard suddenly blinked and then the keyboard light suddenly went out. The keyboard stopped working when the light went out. Is it hardware issue?

I did that but nothing happened. Then I reset and updated, still nothing. I don't use my macbook much. So I was wondering why it suddenly didn't work.
